It is truly astonishing that what should be so easy is made so difficult, only due to the personalities that seem to populate many boards. What makes it so hard to recruit and keep thoughtful, rational people who are not motivated by the false "power" of being on one of these boards? The same stories are repeated in so many websites on the topic. It is unfortunate and makes it very hard to recruit and retain the kinds of board members who are needed.
