The Department of Buildings announced that it is extending to June 30th the 2025 Benchmarking (LL84) deadline for all property owners required to submit energy and water use data for the calendar year 2024. The deadline was previously set for May 1. This will enable co-ops and condos that must also submit LL97 reports this year to further review their benchmarking data and ensure it is accurate, and the change is appreciated.
In a previous bulletin issued,, the Department of Buildings also announced that it will accept estimated reporting which are frequently transmitted by Con Edison (updating reports as actual numbers replace estimates) for the purpose of considering benchmarking reports to be complete.
For those buildings that must file a LL97 report this year, requesting an extension for LL97’s deadline through August 29, 2025, will also trigger a similar extension for LL84. Please note that there is not a similar procedure for LL88.
